The Firefly Companion's Guild

Building community and heart into the Firefly 'verse

I was just wondering, how many others found that joining the Guild seemed to trigger, or in some way was a kind of a catalyst for change in at least their SL? 'cause I'm finding that happening. Some of the change seem to be spontaneous, others I definitely have been able to instigate because of what the Guild has given me in terms of peace, and slowly growing confidence and having a stable base... a "place to stand" like Peter Reidinger in Pegasus in Space (Anne McCaffrey).

In my SL and my RL. My older writings tell a larger story for parts of this, but after coming in contact with the Guild, so much changed for me. I left my old partner when I realized I was staying for all the wrong reasons thanks to learning to better trust myself and the footing the Guild gave me. I came to finally realize more deeply than ever that I am lovable and deserve that love. I'm mostly attracting a better class of lovers. I've finally released my attachment to pick-up sex. Even my look has changed as I've grown to better understand the strength of a more individual approach to the matter. So, yes. Many times over.

Yes, if I look inside myself to see where I'm coming from, my most recent and best self has been based on Varahi's teachings of openness and support. I'm steadier, warmer, more relaxed and confident - and have a stronger ability to believe that life is no problem.

I have found many changes in my life, mostly in RL, but in SL too, as really SL is just an extension of my RL,(just with less physical limitations). I think the changes are definately for the better as when I first came to the Guild,oh some five years ago, I was in a very bad place and also so unsure of myself. I have since grown, and like others, left such bad relationships behind, and now am better off for it. Our Guild is really like a family, and one that is such a joy to be a part of. So yes, to say it has had profound impacts upon my life is an understatement

I'm glad it's making you happy!

Glad I found this thread.  I'd like to (without mentioning any names) include a few quotes as testimonials to wrap up my mini-presentation on the Guild this week unless anyone has any objections. :)

You have my permission to use quotes from me.

I have no objections.

The guild saved me.  ..

  • Gave me hope where the was none
  • Gave me understanding where there was ignorance
  • Gave me peace where there was struggle
  • and it gave me love... filling me, where there was emptiness.
