Called to assist!

In between diplomatic visits to outreach university projects in Extropia and Al Raqis I was called in to deal with more unusual activity at Dakini Land. "Take this" my Extropian partners said as they sent me off in a rudimentary canoe. Apparently a strange crystalline forcefield had appeared there - the same form as the crystals found under the ocean - that was yet to be decided. It is impossible to sail south of the island now.. and the area beyond the crystalline forcefield seems to be very different from what I remember. But everything was fine said the scientists... just take this gadget and find the right frequency with it and the forcefield will disappear!! I could not quite believe but took the boat anyhow, holding the strange blinking thing between my knees as the boat was rocked by the enthusiasm of the boatman. 

Luckily when I got to the dock of Dakini Land there were a few locals ready and eager to assist an old man like myself in his bizarre mission. One of the teaching acolytes named Sunshine helped me get close to the forcefield, by stepping into yet another boat and encouraging me as i 'became one' with the device. Technology and the natural movement of water underfoot would have been a sore combination were it not for her help.

Seems like when the scientists say 'disappear' all they refer to is that it became transparent... it is still not possible to sail south. Is this all to do with the crystals found? The gadget given to me certainly detected slight electro-magnetic radiation recorded by Captain Jaegen earlier in the investigation... though at the sort of tiny levels that only excite the most geeky of scientific minds...

What is going on here? And why can't the scientists just explain a few things.. produce a pamphlet or something. The locals do seem to get quite worked up when anything ruffles the feathers of their quiet world - a little PR here and there never hurt anyone.... muttters....

Anyhow... off to Al Raqis now.. I have posted an application to see Jane now it seems I can book her for Tea Ceremony - and to be served in a Companion house on that dusty and romantic planet (smiles in anticipation). Maybe she can bring some new light to these strange occurrences...

Sorry to hear that South is still out of action, but at least that buzzing, shimmering thing has gone. It was like an external migraine.
